Ok....so I haven't blogged in 3 weeks. It all boils down to being discouraged. I have not given up on my lifestyle change, but I haven't felt like writing about it. I compare my weight loss journey too much to other's journeys and I expect mine to be just the same. That's just not going to happen. My body is my body and it's different. It's going to lose weight in it's timing. As long as I do what I'm supposed to do, then the weight will come off....in due time! That's what I've figured out in these 3 weeks of non-blogging. My weight loss has really been a roller coaster thus far. I'll recap:
Week 1: 3 lbs. lost
Week 2: 1 lb. lost
Week 3: 0 lb. lost
Week 4: 4 lb. lost
Week 5: 3 lbs. gained
Week 6: 3 lbs. lost
Week 7: 2 lbs. lost
for a total of 10 lbs. lost in 7 weeks which is 1.42 lbs. a week. Actually not a bad amount at all. It's well within the normal range of healthy weight loss. It's just been so up and down that it's been hard for me to see. Week 3 was Christmas, so the 0 lbs. weight loss seemed normal to me. Week 4 involved a stomach virus, so I believe the weight loss was skewed a bit. Week 5 was normal and the large weight loss the week before was stabilized. I must just be one of those people who lose weight sporadically. That's ok with me as long as it comes off. I have decided to not care so much about what the scale says and pay attention to how my clothes are fitting. I can see changes in my body, especially my abs and that is encouraging. I will NOT quit!!! After all, this is a lifestyle change and not a fad diet. After 7 weeks, it's all pretty normal and doesn't feel depriving at all. I took pictures at the beginning of my journey and again at the one month mark. I didn't see a big difference as of yet. Hopefully I can post pictures at the 2 month mark and we'll be able to see a difference.
Total Weight Lost since December 7th: 10 lbs.
Weight Loss Goal: 55 lbs.
Pounds to Goal: 45 lbs.
